Start with any one. Add the others when you're ready.

Payroll, Time & Attendance and HR each run on their own. They share one staff list in your BOS database, so the second and third apps start with everyone already there.

One staff list, and what each app keeps to itself

Basic details are shared. Everything else belongs to the app that needs it.

Basic staff details, shared by every app and by BOSName, ID number, contact details, department, position, manager and addresses. Change them in any app, or in BOS, and every app sees it.
Payroll onlyPay, tax and bank details
Time & Attendance onlyClock numbers, sites and devices
HR onlyContracts, documents, discipline, employment-equity and medical details
Each app keeps its own details to itself: bank details never show in HR, and medical details never show in Payroll.

Adding an app takes three steps

1. Everyone is already there

The new app lists every staff member from BOS, marked "Not set up here" until you add them.

2. Fill in only what's new

A set-up wizard picks everyone, or a department or branch, and asks only for that app's own details: a pay group and tax details for Payroll, a clock number and site for Time & Attendance.

3. The apps start talking

Each app notices the others on your database and switches on the hand-offs between them. No integration project, no export files.

What each pair does together

The hand-offs between the apps are being built now.

Time & Attendance + Payroll

Hours paid as clocked

Reviewed hours go to the pay run, so nobody retypes them and overtime is paid by your rules.

HR + Payroll

Leave and exits reach the pay run

Approved leave and terminations go to Payroll, and leave balances show in the Staff app.

HR + Time & Attendance

Attendance you can act on

Repeated absences and lateness become a case to look at, and a new starter is set up for clocking when HR hires them.

Questions people ask

Can we still edit staff in BOS?

Yes. Basic details stay in BOS, and a change made in BOS or in any app shows everywhere.

Who sees bank and medical details?

Only the app that owns them, and only people with the right. Bank details never show in HR or Time & Attendance, and medical details never show in Payroll.

Which app should we start with?

The one that costs you most time today: hours by hand, Time & Attendance; SARS and payslips, Payroll; files, contracts and leave, HR.

What if we stop an app later?

Your staff stay in BOS and the other apps carry on. Nothing is locked into the app you stop.
